Al Gore’s new book wasn’t published as a “classic” eBook in the ePub format for iBook & Kindle but as an interactive iPad app, stuffed with videos and interactive elements. Nothing brand new. People already had predicted the glorious future of the interactive book (e.g. with this Alice app) in the early days of the iPad.

But until now, there was a lack of an efficient production method of such “books 2.0 “. Mike Matas (former designer at Delicious Monster & Apple) has founded PushPopPress and developed a framework to standardized those works in the future. Fast implementation with an intuitive and visually exciting interface is the promise. The 2min demo video is certainly very promising.
